Washington-based singer-songwriter Kenny Sharp unveiled his latest single, “The Louvre,” on August 18, 2023. It’s been over a year since we’ve shared new music from American singer-songwriter Kenny Sharp, so it’s great to share more of his stuff here.

The Louvre is a poppy song, but it also has some retro elements, harking back to the classic days of the soul genre. Kenny’s vocals are very strong, crooning through the music with a great deal of soul and passion, stirring up emotions within the listener. The backing vocals add a cool gospel tinge to the song, creating more atmosphere on the chorus. The main instrumentation comes from a pretty piano melody in the background, bouncing along with the rhythm section perfectly. Find it here:

Washington-based singer-songwriter, Kenny Sharp, can’t wait to show us the museum-worthy being that he's lucky to call his. 

In “The Louvre”, Sharp shares places of awe from all corners of the world. But- nothing compares to the brown-eyed beauty that caught his eye.  As warm, echoed guitar intervals lead us into a steady drum beat, Sharp introduces the love that is best described by him as a “starry, starry night”. Still in disbelief, he is not afraid of the vulnerability that comes with a gladly captured heart.

In the pre-chorus, we are graced with a short moment of admiration. Sharp embodies the feeling you get when you witness something unquestionably breathtaking. Oh, to have someone see your beauty right up there next to The Mona Lisa … “Picture you up in the louvre,” Sharp recognizes classic elegance and is more than happy to admire it all. 

It is the kind of radiance that knows no bounds. Or as he describes it, “It don’t matter what you’re wearing / Check the mirror, you're the fairest one of all.” Out of all the wonders of the world, Sharp sees his girl in her own league of magnificence. 

After an intimate run of the chorus featuring Sharp’s soft vocals and comforting piano keys, the track ends on light notes of “ooh la la’s.” In a world of shallow messages, Sharp’s unique blend of soul, pop, blues, hip-hop & Americana is one to be welcomed, cherished and valued.

The Travelling Band

Tras una pausa de cinco años, la banda inglesa The Travelling Band está de vuelta. Reconocida por su estilo único de raíces-rock e indie-folk, cuenta ya con una trayectoria discográfica muy importante y presentaciones en festivales internacionales.

Cuentan con cuatro álbumes en estudio; Under the Pavement’ (2008), ‘Screaming is Something’ ‘ (2011) ‘The Big Defreeze’ (2014) y ‘Sails’ (2018). Integrada por Jo Dudderidge, Adam P. Gorman, Nick Vaal, Sam Quinn y Harry Fausing Smith.

Ahora regresan con su nuevo sencillo, ‘Super 8 Surrender‘, que fue escrita y grabada como parte de un proyecto artístico colaborativo multidisciplinario ‘Revolve:R’. La banda se inspiró en el método ‘Cut-Up’ iniciado por William S. Burroughs (y luego utilizado por David Bowie).
